CONSERVATION CRUISE
TE PUKA-HERAKA / COAL ISLAND
This is your unique opportunity to contribute to the restoration efforts on Te Puka-Hereka (the tied anchor) otherwise known as Coal Island. We are woking with the Coal island Trust to support their vision in making the island a sanctuary for endangered species to flourish, and you too can help.
With over 15km of predator trap lines established, your days will be spent engaging in activities such as assisting in the clearing of traps, either on the island, adjacent mainland or neighbouring Islands, while other tasks could include species monitoring activity.
Each trip is different and all activity is governed by the needs of the Coal Island Trust, so the work can be varied. There will be time to explore some of the hidden gems and get a taste of the rich tapestry this remote destination has.
If you'd like to do some meaningful travel and mahi (work) in this special wild corner of NZ, get in touch to secure your spot today.
