SLICE OF THE WILD

TE HOUHOU / GEORGE SOUND

Chopper into one of Fiordland’s lesser-known sounds for a slice of the wild. Paddle through pristine waters, drop your jaw at Alice Falls and stroll the lush ancient rainforest.

This 2 night/3 day adventure into Te Houhou / George Sound is a perfect mini break, a chance to recharge and soak up the natural goodness of this remote fiord.

The itinerary is determined by Mother Nature, however there is a great selection of rivers to walk up, the option of wondering up to Lake Alice and with it being one of the longest of the fiords, there is plenty of scope for a touch of kayaking. And of course, you can always lay about in beanbags and get lost in a good book or lovely glass of Pinot if that's your thing.
