If you're more adventurous, why not get some mates together and walk the George Sound Track. This three day tramp into the remote George Sound Fiord is a challenging tramp and not for the faint hearted. You'll need good fitness and back country skills. The best part is that once you get to the end of the track, the charming Breaksea Girl will be ready with hot showers, delicious local delicacies and comfy beds. The Breaksea Girl is the perfect refuge to sit back and relax with your favourite bottle of Pinot or bubbles and get a taste of coastal life away from the sandflies. Stay for a couple of nights for a hint of kayaking, snorkelling, free diving or paddle board and (of course a well deserved relax session) before we fly you home or elect to do the four hour coastal journey up to Milford Sound. Local, family owned operator Fiordland Outdoors can transport you across to the start of the George Sound Track on the Te Anau side to start your epic trip.
Duration 3 days walk + 3/4 day charter aboard the Breaksea Girl
Another slightly newer track on the radar worth discovering is the Humpridge Track. The three day walk sitting on the edge of Fiordland National Park which touches the South Coast with striking vistas as far as the eye can see. You can go lux styles or freedom walk. Lovely, well equiped backcountry lodges/huts for your night stays are a fitting complement with spending time exploring the extensive waterways of Dusky Sound whilst relaxing aboard the Breaksea Girl. You cant beat it!
Duration 3 day walk + 3/4 day charter aboard the Breaksea Girl.
